Check the power cable connection
Problems with Surface Studio models can sometimes be solved by making sure your power supply connections are firmly secured.
Surface Pro Power Button Broken
Note: When you unplug the power cable from your Surface Studio or Surface Studio 2, unplug it from the wall first. The plug that’s attached to the base has a lock to keep it in place when you move your Surface Studio or Surface Studio 2. If you need to unplug the power cable from the base, slide the plug away from the base to release the lock.
I can’t find the power indicator light
There’s no power indicator light on Surface Studio models. If the power is on and your Surface Studio model isn’t sleeping or hibernating, the screen should be on. If the screen isn’t on, touch the screen, move your mouse, or press the power button to turn it on.
My Surface Studio or Surface Studio 2 won’t turn on
If you see a black screen with no Windows logo or your Surface Studio model seems to be turned off or in a power-saving state and you can’t wake it, first try pressing and releasing the power button. Wait several seconds. If that doesn’t work, try this:
On your keyboard, simultaneously press the Windows logo key + Ctrl+Shift+B. You should hear a short beep while Windows tries to refresh the screen.
If that doesn’t work, force a restart:
Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds until the screen turns off, then release the power button. Press and release the power button to turn Surface Studio back on.
If that doesn’t work, press and hold down the power button for 15-20 seconds. The screen will turn off, but keep holding down the power button. After restart, you’ll see the Windows logo screen, and then the Windows sign-in screen. Then, release the power button.
If that doesn’t work, contact us or send your Surface Studio in for service.
Surface Pro 4 Power Button Not Working For A Laptop Windows 10
When I try to wake my Surface Studio model from sleep, the screen turns black and I have to restart it
Make sure you have the latest updates. Select the Start button, then select Settings > Update and security > Windows Update > Check for updates. If any updates are available, install them.

The USB-C port in my Surface Studio 2 won't charge my peripheral device or my USB-C peripheral device isn't working
Make sure that you're using the cable that came with your peripheral device when attempting to use or charge it through the USB-C port on your Surface Studio 2. Not all USB-C cables support charging or data transfer.
My Surface Studio 2 doesn't receive power from its USB-C port
Surface Studio 2 has a USB-C port, but does not receive inbound power through its USB-C port. You should use the power cord that came with your Surface Studio 2 for power.

Surface Pro 4 Does Not Respond When Power Button Is Pressed
If you tried powering on your Surface Pro 4 but the device doesn’t respond or it turns on and then off, the problem could be caused by a number of issues including being stuck in sleep mode or having a low battery.
Broken Power Cord
Replace the power cord
If the LED light in the tip of the power cord does not turn on when the Surface Pro 4 is plugged in to an outlet, then there may be a problem with the power cord itself. In that case, you would need to replace it.
Surface Pro Won't Turn on or Is Stuck in Sleep Mode
Step 1. Force Restart
Hold down the power button on your device for at least 30 seconds and then release it. Press the power button once to turn the device back on.

If this does not work proceed to step 2.
Step 2. Two-button Shutdown
Hold down the power button for 30 seconds and then release it. Hold down the device's power button and its volume-up button for at least 15 seconds then let go. Wait 10 seconds, and then press the power button to start up the device.
Step 3. Replace Power Button
If the above steps do not work, you may have a faulty or disconnected power button.
Replace the button and test to see if the Surface Pro turns on.
Surface Pen Does Not Work
Normally, your Surface Pen will allow interaction with the screen of your Surface Pro. If you attempt to use the Surface Pen and the Surface Pro does not respond or responds in an unexpected manner, there may be an issue with the pen.
Broken Pen Tip
Check if the pen tip is scratched or broken. If it is broken you can purchase a replacement kit at various electronics retailers.
Pen Is Not Connected to Bluetooth
Go to the Bluetooth settings on your Surface to ensure that that Bluetooth is enabled and your Surface Pen is connected to Bluetooth.
If it still doesn't work, go to Settings, select the device and click Remove Device. Then pair the pen with the Surface by holding the top button on the pen for seven seconds and then select Pair on the Bluetooth device list.
Surface Pro 4 Audio Not Working
Pen Battery Needs to Be Replaced
You might need to replace the battery for the pen. To do this, twist the cap counterclockwise and pull it off of the pen. Remove the battery and replace with a new AAAA battery. Replace the cap.

Surface Battery Won't Charge
The Surface Pro 4 may have a battery issue if the battery level does not increase when it is plugged into a power source. It might display such messages as “Plugged in, Not Charging,” or “Battery Not Detected.
Battery Driver Issue
Step 1. Restart
Restart your device by going to the Start menu. Click 'Power,' then click 'Restart.'
Step 2. Charge while device is turned off
If ‘‘‘Step 1 '' does not work, turn off the device and plug in to a power source to charge for at least 30 minutes.
Step 3. Two-button Shutdown
If Step 2 does not work, hold the power button down for 30 seconds, then hold down both your device's power button and its volume-up button for 15 seconds, then release. Wait 10 seconds, then press the power button to start up the device.
Battery Replacement
If the above steps do not work, your battery may be faulty. You will need to replace the battery.
Surface Display Does Not Work
The Surface Pro 4 may have a screen problem if the screen turns blank during normal operation or does not respond to touch.
Screen is Dirty
Clean your device screen with a lens cloth or other soft cloth.
